Antigua & St. Lucia

The next Island was Antigua - after a full day we wanted to just relax so we walked around town for about an hour and then checked out a very small museum of history of Antigua before we just caught a taxi to a nearby beach. We ended up at the place where a lot of employees go I guess and we ran into our activities director with some of his crew and it really only solidified the friendship that was forming.

The next day we stopped in St. Lucia - it was Sunday so a lot was closed down but we were able to find a church to go to and get there in time for the meetings. We looked up some info online but to get there Joe just had to start asking locals - He started by "Do you know where the LDS church is? No reaction or understanding. Ok then do you know where the Mormon church is? Squint eyes together like they may have heard of that before. Ok then do you know where the church is where you see guys just like me with white shirts and ties walking around, maybe with name tags? Oh yeah I think they just meet somewhere up on the hill! And to our surprise we met the only two sister missionaries in the East Caribbean Mission. The ward was very pleased to have us visiting and although the members are relatively young to the church they are working to learn the basic details of the gospel and scriptural stories - It's here when I realized what Elder Bednar was talking about with senior couple missionaries - a lot of places they are needed to build zion by sharing their knowledge and experience in the church.

These girls were super cute and sat behind us in Sacrament meeting and played with our hair and wrote us notes about how much they loved us.

This little one loved our sunglasses

Afterward we were walking back to the church and came across the National 15 and under Cricket team practicing for a tournament, the coach let us come into the complex and watch them for a bit - and he was flabergasted that Joe had never even seen Cricket (is that even how you spell it?). I still don't understand the rules, people in New Zealand said that we could watch a three day match and still not get it - but I don't know if we can understand American Football we should have a shot. However, St. Lucia is a beautiful island that is very natural and I'd like to go back and see a bit more of it.
